Graded Gun Metal scrap consists of copper-tin-zinc alloy components that have been carefully sorted and graded by alloy composition. The standard gun metal composition is 85% copper, 5% tin, 5% lead, and 5% zinc (known as 85/5/5/5 or Ounce Metal), though many variations exist for specific applications. Grading is critical because tin content significantly affects value — higher tin grades command premium prices. Our team uses XRF analyzers to accurately identify and grade gun metal scrap, ensuring sellers receive the maximum value for their material.
